Cron Neutralize Module. Background: a. Odoo allows multiple databases to exist in an instance and runs cron jobs / background jobs on all the databases the application server has access to. b. This behavior is seen even when a single database is configured for execution in the configuration file. c. Database copy outside of the production system is not differentiated for the cron/integration execution. Due to the above limitations on the controls, i. Crons run automatically when an application server reaches a database it can in the instance. ii. No maintenance activity can be performed even with a slight delay in bringing up the instance and turning off the scheduled actions. iii. Odoo systems fail to run when a stale database loads first in the instance and is not compatible with the system. iv. Most configurations are stored within the database and when the databases are copied over, the configurations continue to exist and be valid. Functional Requirements: Scheduled actions should only run on identified / designated systems Scheduled actions should not run on background or stale databases in an Odoo instance The controls for scheduled actions run should exist outside of the database itself, lending the system for better maintenance and operational management. Control over database copying workflows needed for upkeep of the system. Solution: Scheduled action and integration pre-qualification to run: Change in the Odoo code (extend core functionality related to scheduled jobs and integrations) to utilize the configuration parameter and influence the workflows. Environment=Dev/Test/QA/Production (Default is not production) EnableCron=False (Default) DB_Name= (default is empty or undefined) Scheduled Jobs: When a cron job starts, if EnableCron is False (default), Cron job stops immediately. If DB_Name is undefined, Cron Job stops immediately, even if EnableCron is set to True If the Environment is not Production, Cron Jobs stop immediately
